Gairola, Chairman and Managing Director, Dena Bank is one of those achievers who have all these traits in abundance. Thanks to his operational skills, Dena Bank has today become a family bank for all. Born in December 1948, Gairola also worked as a lecturer in Delhi University in the 1970s. In 1973, he joined the Union Bank of India and worked in different positions and since then he hasn't looked back. Before this corporate chief moved to Bank of India, he was heading the Credit and the Social Banking Division in the Union Bank of India. Known for his resilience and strategic moves in the banking realm, Gairola has made strides in the banking world during his illustrious career. He is widely acclaimed for his in-depth understanding of banking sector. Gairola has also infused fresh blood in the functioning of the Dena Bank and has ensured its smooth functioning.

Gairola's more than 30 years of rich experience in the banking world has seen him heading a number of committees appointed for formulating policies and guidelines. His aptitude and skills have been instrumental for bringing about reforms in the banking sector. Always eager to learn new skills, Gairola has also served as the Principal of Union Bank of India's training facility (Union Bank's Staff College accredited with National Golden Peacock Quality Award). His innovative spirit and passion for perfection helped this facility receive ISO certification. It was the first college to be certified as ISO compliant. A member of the Core group of the Energy Efficient Project of the World Bank, Gairola in his new capacity visited Brazil in 2004 under the cross-country exchange programme of the core group. The Brazil trip helped Gairola sharpen his managerial skills to a great extent. A firm believer in keeping himself updated with the latest trends in banking sector, Gairola also participated in the advanced banking training programme organized by the Barclays Bank in London. In 2003, he had also served as a member of an international Seminar of the bankers and financial institutions in Singapore. Gairola, who has brought about several changes in the functioning of the Dena Bank, has also been instrumental in augmenting the resources of the bank and making sure that the bank does well on the financial front too. With the person like Gairola heading the Dena bank, one can be sure that the chart of Bank's growth will touch new height in days to come.
