There is no power greater than the power of mind. For it's the mind that is responsible for creating and bringing the best out of an individual. And when we talk about the mind's power, there is one person - Jaswinder Ahuja, Corporate Vice President and Managing Director, Cadence India, who would give professionals run for their ideas. Known for his calculated business moves, Ahuja, through his persistent efforts and innovative ideas, has made Cadence one of the most successful and professionally-managed software companies in the country.
It's no wonder that Cadence India is the largest site of its parent company outside North America in the world. Joining Cadence way back in 1988 as an electrical engineer, Ahuja has helped the firm grow from strength to strength. It was in 1996 that he assumed the responsibility of the Managing Director of India operations and also led the Strategic Partnerships. Since then Ahuja hasn't looked back. A fully owned subsidiary of the US-based Cadence Design Systems, the company under Ahuja's stewardship today attributes 90% of its revenues to software exports. In fact, Cadence has continuously increased its investment and presence in India, over the recent years with employees touching approximately 600. |
| Playing an active role in the globalization strategy and leading Cadence's India and Russia Operations, the company under the visionary leadership of Ahuja has grown from an R&D site of around 120 to a corporate resource center of nearly 700 employees across R&D, IT support, Global Customer Care and Field Operations. In fact, Ahuja is credited with leading the India center to be recognized for its operational excellence and as the number One IT Employer in India among the small companies for three years in a row from 2002 to 2004 based on the DQ-IDC annual best employer surveys.
Specialising in electronic design automation (EDA) and VLSI, which has become an indispensable element in the design of modern electronics, Cadence was among the initial wave of IT companies to establish operations in the country. Today, its R&D facility in Noida has been responsible for the developing several mainstream and crucial technology products. It's but natural that the parent company plans to double the capacity of its Noida facility with an investment of $50 million over the next three years and around $10-12 million in construction of the new center. Focusing on developing design automation solutions to address the needs of technology process nodes, Ahuja has been responsible for creating an undisputed turf for Cadence in India. And with him leading the march to technological innovations, there could be only further expansion and growth for Cadenece in years to come. |
